On June 5 the Plaza Cinema held a screening of the documentary “Town Teams: Bigger Than Baseball”, which focuses on Kansas town team baseball at the turn of the 20th century. This insightful movie displays the players of the late 1800s and early 1900s, who truly played for the love of the game. DHTV Digital uses stories, pictures, press clippings, and interviews to outline how small town baseball was a staple in small town American culture.
Keepers of the Legends Foundation interviewed some great people whose family were part of Kansas’s rich baseball history. The show was able to bring people together from all different generations and the interviewees were more than happy to talk to the KOL Foundation.
Be on the lookout for more interviews soon to come.
Town Teams: Bigger than Baseball examines the players, the fans, the rivalries, and the impact of town team baseball in Kansas in the early 1900s.
